Engraved Dichroic Glass Pendant With Silver Bail

Engraved Dichroic Glass Pendant With Silver Bail

Hi, my name is Lyn and I live and work on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

My work, in its many forms of glass, jewellery, painting and ceramics has won awards both here and overseas.

For the better part of 30 years, I have done and taught ceramics, mosaic and leadlighting.

In recent years, I began jewellery making, which is how I came back to 'glass'.

I fell in love with the magic of dichroic glass about 20 years ago when I first saw it for lead lighting.

In more recent times, I rediscovered it for creating the most amazing miniature artworks, which I could incorporate into my jewellery.

And so, an obsession was well and truly born.

This pendant and bail setting was part of a custom order.

The pendant (which was one of two) has been designed so that it could be swapped out and a different one used on the same bail.

The glass has been pieced together, fired and then hand engraved.

A piece of fine silver wire, hammered flat was inserted between the engraved section and the backing piece before being re~fired.

The pendant design is original to me and the bail design is my interpretation of one by Margo Farrin O'Connor that appeared in the Summer Preview 2007 edition of Step by Step Wire Jewelry.

I hope you get as much pleasure from my art as I get in creating it.
