CG Maille Tutorials

Some patterns will have actual ring size and wire gauge noted. Others will only refer to the AR (aspect Ratio).

For a full explanation of AR visit CG Maille Aspect Ratio where there is a nicely detailed article.

If you are going to develop your own designs then an understanding of AR is very important in the making of chain maille weaves.

If you wish to modify an existing weave design then AR may be critical to the successful outome.

Aspect ratio is very important as the wrong AR can result in the weave being too loose or too tight if the wrong size chain maille rings are used.
